Say it when you mean it- “Sorry”

sorry

Did you know that “I’m sorry” is one of the top 20 phrases that is commonly used. We use it when we accidentally stamp on a person’s foot or when we knowingly  betray our loved ones. And “Sorry” is supposed to make everything right? Not always.

A Good apology has 4 parts:

  1. I am really SORRY
  2. It’s my fault
  3. I will not repeat it
  4. What can I do to make it right

But sadly, we ruin our apologies with excuses, insincerity and it’s all in vain when we repeat the same behaviour or actions.

We all have been in both the places. We know the hurt when our trusted few break their word or act without thinking or respecting the people, their actions will affect. We also know the times, we acted rashly and did something which permanently changed the course of other people’s career, relationship or life.

So why is it so difficult for us to really mean our sorry and take steps to make it right. And why is it so difficult for us to forgive. I know it’s the most difficult to forgive when there there’s a lot of love and trust. But, we must truly give second chances. It takes years to nurture a relationship and just a moment to cut it. Second chances come only when people are sincere and they are willing to make redemptions.

On the other hand, when people turn the table on you or act victim, then it’s truly futile. Its then we forgive them(for ourselves) and move on.

Say it only when you mean it. When you mean it “Sorry” can move your world.

Mind your wings
